What a month.......

Those who need to know, already have heard the story. We have been very busy and posting here was not a priority.

We planned our usual June trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway early in June. It was June 9th before we were able to get out. We wanted to go to the Peaks of Otter. We had been there some 40+ years ago, shortly after we were married. For those of you who have never visited here are a couple of pictures.

This is a view across Abbott Lake toward the peak. There is a van that runs from the Visitors Center to the top. We did not do that this trip.

This is a view of the Restaurant, to the right is the motel rooms. Now our memory is fading but this is how we remembered it from 40+ years ago. It should be noted that this is a place to get away from it all, no TV, no in room phones, no cell service and obviously no internet access. It's up to you to find your own entertainment and it is all around you.
